Hey Wilkin,

Thanks for reading. I am very glad it got you to thinking about how crazy we really lead our lives. Sometimes all it takes is a little reminder to just slow down, feel, breadth, absorb and appreciate.

Also, checked the clicky stats, and it's fixed now! (I hope) thanks for letting me know. :)

have an awesome day,
angielim

Hey Ivo,

Thanks for reading. For some reason, your full comment didn't show up until recently, I really only saw the first sentence first. But I appreciate your thoughts. I would never see anything as an attack, but as a way to learn from another perspective, which is very interesting. I see that as a motivation of the mind that stems beyond just this post alone, perhaps its a question about whether bloggers in general have a similar personality trait that differentiate them from others who don't but share just the same opinion? I spoke about the ego from a perspective that is prescriptive, using it as an example to explain certain behaviours in the post. But whether or not the ego was a driving force behind this post, definitely - it is behind everything, it is apparent in all states of the mind, especially the unconscious one. Above all, as much as my posts are personal in nature, I share them for three reasons - to inspire others, to allow others to feel compelled to share their stories & hopefully allow them to feel the emotions that I feel. Period. :)

cheers,
angielim

That was a very insightful read! Thanks Angie! I am however a little bummed of being guilty for a large number of those things in the "crazy busy" checklist. I think sometimes we just get so sucked into it that we begin to think that it is the norm but rather need to take a step back and start "living" like you say!

Thanks for this!

p.s. oh btw i think you might want to take a look at your "clicky statistics" plugin, its giving me warnings at the top of your page.

I thoroughly enjoyed your thoughts Angie. I believe that the main driving force behind all of this is the ego, as you have mentioned. I also believe that the ego is sly and has a multi-layered illusory defense system which leads a person to think that they are overcoming their ego when in fact (and i speak from personal experience) the state they find themselves in is a cunningly veiled charade put on by yours truly...the ego.

I am quite curious as to the intentions of this post. Please dont interpret this as an attack but rather an attempt to probe the mind, perhaps for our mutual benefit (I am interested in the ways people think, and for that matter the similarities between all minds) So then, if I am not missing anything, this post is a slate onto which you can explore your own thoughts about a subject while at the same time publicly presenting it for the benefit of anyone willing to take these issues into account. I imagine there is however another motive that is hard to extricate oneself from. This motive is tied into the ego and its drive for recognition. I do think you're a lovely person, and this is not in any way to your discredit from my point of view, but my question then is, when you write this article can you detect the desire to be seen as an individual of capability, one who delivers insight into topics not discussed or not obvious to many people? Are there within you feelings of duality, feelings of superiority compensated by feelings and thoughts of equality to others. Within myself I find dichotomous drives, and so I think it is common amongst all people. Seeing as how you are a reflective person, I thought that this might be an interesting thing to discuss with you. Anyhow.
